Nicole’s palettes are inspired by life. The colors of nature… the ocean, birds, flowers and plants are huge influences on her color choices. Nicole’s paintings are very intuitive. Nicole allows the paintings to unfold as they see fit. Shapes and rich texture help to create the composition of her paintings. Nicole has always been intrigued by geometry. This is reflected in Nicole’s use of bold lines and shapes in many of her paintings. Nicole’s paintings are layered gems. Using palette knives, brushes in varied sizes, kitchen tools, and many other found objects she adds texture and depth to the layers of her paintings. Fluid acrylic paint, acrylic inks, and acrylic spray paint are often used to add a bit of softness and playfulness to balance out the bold geometric shapes that are prevalent in her pieces.
